Iplex Pipeline's 2,000 mm Diameter PE Pipe
Iplex Pipelines has extruded its POLIplex® PE pipes in Australia for decades and is one of the few companies capable of producing polyethylene (PE) pipes with outer diameters up to 2,000 mm. The company is very active in major pipeline infrastructure solutions and provides advice from the design through installation phases.
One of their recent projects was at Melbourne Water’s Western Treatment Plant in Victoria, Australia. GEM Industrial was contracted for the project to construct a single 1,800 mm pipeline to bypass a large, failed concrete pipe in the system. GEM imported a 24-ton McElroy Talon butt-welding machine from Oklahoma just for the project that could fuse the large diameter pipe. Iplex was responsible for manufacturing the pipe and fittings for the project under the direction of GEM.
