McElroy PolyHorse® Inventive Setup
McElroy recently shared a case study of an inventive way to setup their PolyHorse pipe handling system submitted by Irrigation Plus Inc. based in Quebec, Canada. Irrigation Plus installs PE pipe for irrigation on golf courses and farms. The company recently installed 1,200 feet of 10” IPS DR17 which was tied in to an existing 10” line for irrigation on an onion farm. The farm wanted to be able to pump water from a second pond as well as the main pond.
Jonathan Lachapelle, whose family owns Irrigation Plus, says, “The way that I’ve setup my PolyHorse enabled us to knock out the job in a day. Using the TracStar® 412 and the TracStar 500, with 2 operators, we didn’t have to jump over the pipe. Once the 1,200’ was done, we fused a tee on one of the 600’ sticks and carefully spliced it in place with an electrofusion coupling sleeve. After that, the 500 made small work of tying the 600’ lines together.”
