Field Leak Testing of Polyethylene Pressure Pipe
Our team of inspectors is trained and ready to be in the field during the field leak testing of your polyethylene pressure pipe. We have Certified Inspectors who can mobilize to your location anywhere in North America and elsewhere in the World by special request. We have the insurance for our pipeline inspector to work on municipal and government projects. While many firms will conduct this testing, our experience has been there are many mistakes that can be made which confound testing. Our greatest value is as on-site consultants to avoid costly and time-consuming mistakes that may result in false claims of leaks in your pipeline.
ASTM F2164 is the Standard Practice for Field Leak Testing of Polyethylene (PE) and Crosslinked Polyethylene (PEX) Pressure Piping Systems Using Hydrostatic Pressure. We have experience conducting this type of inspection. We will not participate in any leak testing using compressed gases. Our current standard offering includes the following;
Remote testing of the HDPE butt fusion joints or joint specimens in general accordance with ASTM F2164.
Abbreviated reporting as described in ASTM F2164 including no less than;

Abbreviated reporting as described in ASTM F2164 including no less than;
- The test liquid.
- The test pressure.
- The type of test gages in the test section.
- The placement of gages in the section, such as test gage location distances and changes in elevation in the section, if any.
- Test gage calibration records.
- Test pressures recorded during the test.
- The test duration.
- A description of the test section length, changes in elevations and site location.
- A description of the test section components.
- Description of any identified leaks and the corrective actions taken.
- The date and time of day of the test.
- The identification of the parties involved in the conduct of the test.
